elpa-zzz-to-char software package provides fancy version of `zap-to-char' command, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elpa-zzz-to-char
elpa-zzz-to-char is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elpa-zzz-to-char package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elpa-zzz-to-char *
You will get with elpa-zzz-to-char package name, version, architecture and description in a table
